The Role

The position of Senior Financial Accountant is a newly created position because of further growth and expansion. The role will support the team and be responsible for maintaining financial records and for providing relevant information for managers and decision-makers.

To be considered you must possess strong technical accounting skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders right across the globe including interaction & participation with several high-value projects. The ideal candidate will most likely come from an external audit background with some experience in a commercial business preferred. Those candidates looking for their first move to an industry business will also be considered.

On Offer

The role of Senior Financial Accountant will offer a salary of £45,000 - £55,000 plus a highly competitive benefits package. The office premises are based on the outskirts of Edinburgh and easily accessible via public transport with parking facilities onsite. The role will offer hybrid flexible working to allow for supportive working relationships and a healthy work-life balance.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Supporting the preparation of annual financial statements, tax computations, and other returns to UK statutory authorities
  • Responsible for the timely submission of VAT and other filings
  • Part of the team responsible for the preparation of Month end accounts including balance sheet reconciliations for the UK and international business
  • Analysis of month-end results for all UK-managed entities
  • Capital expenditure reporting to support budget information and for tax purposes
  • Operating and monitoring of internal controls
  • Participation in a number of high value & business critical projects
  • Business partnering with local and international based stakeholders including non-financial individuals
  • Assisting with the production of financial statements in accordance with local and international legislation & standards
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures and controls
  • Assisting with ERP developments

 

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • A qualified Accountant (ICAS, ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA) is essential.
  • Strong technical financial accounting skills, with previous experience in a top 10 audit firm very desirable
  • Proactive self-starter with proven ability to problem solve complex issues.
  • Must have sound knowledge and expertise with core IT packages including advanced use of Excel
  • Excellent communicator and strong team player.
  • Presence of character to command respect and build productive and collaborative working relationships at all levels
