£30,000 - £40,000 - Industry & Commerce - Part Qualified Accountant

The Role
 
With a direct reporting line to the Accounting Manager the Senior Financial Accountant will primarily be responsible for providing financial and tax compliance controls, support and direction to all UK entities.
 
The position of Senior Financial Accountant will be highly varied and require a hands-on approach daily. The position is primarily responsible for ensuring the financial control of UK businesses which will encompass day-to-day financial management and reporting activities, together with maintaining the General Ledger, monthly working papers, and integrity of the Balance Sheet, including the control accounts for all entities. The role will act as a mentor and support to the UK Accounting team to increase knowledge base within the team relating to IFRS, AR, AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Cashflow, Tax etc.
You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:
  • To provide the relevant technical expertise and assistance to Plexus Management, ensuring the appropriate compliance with all accounting standards.
  • To mentor and support UK Accounting team to increase knowledge base within the team relating to IFRS, AR, AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Cashflow, Tax etc.
  • To maintain the General Ledger, monthly working papers, and integrity of the Balance Sheet, including the control accounts for all entities.
  • Manage UK Secondee Employment taxes relative to the UK, working collaboratively with the Corporate tax team, Global Mobility and tax advisors, keeping up to date with legislation requirements and changes.
  • Manage the Corporation tax processes for the UK entities including the Annual Corporation Tax requirements ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK Tax legislation and adherence to deadlines.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:
  • A minimum of a Part Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is required or working towards a Professional Accounting qualification;
  • Three (3) years of related experience is preferred
  • Experience in industry acting in this role, ideally in manufacturing, or public practice experience with exposure to accounting, auditing, VAT, taxation, etc.
  • Experience in ERP systems, ideally JD Edwards or similar. Although smaller systems experience is acceptable.
  • Working as a team, but with a high degree of personal responsibility and autonomy.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
  • Demonstrate learning agility to pick up new tasks quickly and initiative to research gaps in knowledge, problem solving, and decision making, and proactively driving solutions.
  • Experience leading team members creating an engaging working environment.
  • Displays a positive approach with a willingness to take on and complete successfully new challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact and influence internal and external stakeholders.

The role of Senior Financial Accountant will offer a highly competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,000 dependent on experience including an excellent benefits package which includes pension, ample holidays, study support (if Applicable)and other great benefits.  The offices are accessible via public transport with parking available onsite.
