iMultiply are working in partnership with a leading professional services firm to recruit a Financial Accountant in Edinburgh. The role is paying a competitive salary along with great additional benefits.

You will be based at the office in Edinburgh working within a talented finance team. The Role

This business-critical role has been created to support the Group Financial Accountanting team and also liaise with Senior Managers and budget holders. To be considered for this opportunity you must have excellent working knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS 102 and previous experience in a group accounting or financial control position.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

Preparing, coordinating, and challenging legal entity balance sheet reconciliations.
Preparation and validation of monthly group foreign exchange revaluations.
Ensuring all balance sheet accounts and inter-company balances are routinely reconciled and fully substantiated.
Preparation of group balance sheet reporting and commentary.
Routine reconciliation of sub-ledger control account balances to the general ledger.
Preparing month end journals in conjunction with the wider group accounting team.
Preparing annual financial statements and applicable notes in accordance with FRS102.
Taking a lead role on the statutory audit ensuring all deliverables and deadlines are met.
Co-ordination and delivery of interim and final work-in-progress valuation exercises.
Liaising with global finance teams to ensure timely coordination and completion of tasks.
Actively contribute towards the achievement of wider finance team deliverables and continuous improvement of internal processes.
Supporting the team as required, providing cover for team members in times of absence.
Have a full understanding of all procedures and systems in place – “roll sleeves up” and help the team when necessary.
Maintaining good relationships with other departments in the business.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

Qualified accountant ACCA/CIMA/ICAS
Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to operate independently.
Able to discuss and present issues in a confident, professional and appropriate way.
Advanced user of Excel
Good practical knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS102
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
