iMultiply are working in partnership with a Big Four accountancy practice to recruit a Senior Consultant for its Enterprise Risk team in Glasgow.

The Firm

This Big Four firm is a market leading, international accountancy practice offering audit, tax and advisory services to many of the world's largest and most well-known companies.

The Role

The key responsibility for the Senior Consultant position will be to undertake and deliver on engagements in the Internal Audit and Controls space, managing multiple internal and external stakeholders. The projects undertaken will vary, and may include internal audit (IA), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and internal control framework reviews and may also include assistance on other projects, including enterprise risk management, governance risk and control (GRC) or performance improvement.

The role will involve:

Supporting the execution and daily deliverables of a portfolio of client IA projects
Monitoring and managing client engagement budgets
Working effectively in a team, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress
Developing risk and control matrices; creating test plans and clear working papers to document test results
Co-developing action plans to improve processes and addressing control and process weaknesses
Preparing reports that will be delivered to clients and other parties
Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with client personnel
Contributing to a positive team environment by demonstrating consistent commitment and optimism toward work challenges

The Person

Suitable candidates for this role will possess the following skills and attributes:

Good understanding of core business processes, associated risks and leading practice controls
Understanding and documenting processes, identifying and evaluating risks and assessing whether controls are designed effectively and mitigate risks
Using data analytics and a questioning mindset to challenge when analytics could and should be used
Familiarity with quality, risk management and financial management requirements
Ability to engage with and manage multiple stakeholder communities and cross functional projects
Business acumen - compile information quickly and accurately, testing data and assumptions
Tailoring recommendations to address issues
Good stakeholder management of senior client personnel
Self-awareness when dealing with others, able to adapt your own approach to differences in individual style and backgrounds, recognising the risk of unconscious biases
Professional experience in internal audit and SOX compliance
A relevant post-graduate qualification (IIA, CCAB, CA, ICAEW or equivalent)
Clearance requirement: BPSS security clearance or equivalent
