iMultiply is working exclusively with a well-established Glasgow-based Accountancy Practice to recruit for a Senior Client Manager.

This Glasgow-based Independent Accountancy Firm is growing and has been going through a significant period of transition in technology and in adding to their service offering. Business growth and improvement advisory services are a growth focus area. They are looking for someone who can help drive forward this continuing growth and play a key role in helping their clients thrive.

Leading the way to future growth with regular advisory sessions to make their clients’ lives better. Presenting suggestions that give them more time, more money, more choice and more peace of mind. Ultimately with the focus on helping them and their team use their business to achieve what matters most to them in their life.

The businesses they work with have some areas of focus; food and drink, construction, engineering and technology sectors being some.

The Role

The role of Senior Client Manager is a great opportunity for a Qualified Accountant looking to progress their career. You will have significant post-qualified experience in Practice with a well-rounded Practice skillset.

Day-to-day will be responsible for:

  • Regular clear communication and calls with your clients to develop trust and connection and show a high level of personal care.
  • Coordinating and carrying out a full range of client services including accounts, advisory, corporate and personal tax for a portfolio of your own clients. Monitoring payroll being done by an outsourced team and monitoring bookkeeping being done by junior staff members for your client portfolio.
  • Keeping a commercial and curious eye on your client's business performance and looking for issues and opportunities where they may need help.
  • Identifying service gaps where clients need help, offering the services and conveying the benefits of these to clients and thereby enhancing the service offering.
  • Making sure that service levels are delivered in line with the agreements and keeping to the scope of what has been agreed.
  • Looking ahead and managing time efficiently to handle a diverse client portfolio with different demands and deadlines, ensuring a high-quality client experience
  • Building strong working relationships with the Partners, and suggesting solutions to client issues. Leading the way to new and better ways of doing things.
  • Working with the partners to refine and develop existing processes and client service offerings to ensure an efficient and valuable client experience
  • Playing a key role in client meetings.
  • Monitoring WIP and budgets for the portfolio.
  • Acting as a role model and playing a key role in developing the team
  • Reviewing the work of more junior team members and providing constructive feedback
  • Keeping up to date with technical developments.
  • Developing the Firm’s cloud accounting offering including managing the transition of clients’ systems and additional apps.


To be considered for the role you will ideally have:

  • Strong communication skills and enjoy talking to people about what is important to them.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust both internally and externally
  • In-depth accounting and tax knowledge
  • Excellent commercial awareness
  • Commitment to developing people
  • A generous and positive attitude and enjoy thinking deeply and problem-solving.
  • Ability to challenge the norm and suggest improvements and new ideas
  • Xero and IRIS experience.
