This well established, independent accountancy practice is currently looking to recruit an ambitious Senior Manager for its Business Services team and is offering a route to partnership.

The Firm

The firm is a medium sized practice offering the full range of professional services and prides itself on its customer-centric approach.

The Role

As a key member of the management team you will be responsible for the development of the Business Services Skill Group Working alongside your peers, you will manage a portfolio of clients across a variety of sectors such as Professional Practices, Family Owner Managed Businesses, Charities, Technology and Retail.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of clients as well as providing assistance and support to others within the firm
  • Taking responsibility for the effective communication with clients and colleagues
  • Ensuring assignments are completed within agreed budgets
  • Reviewing of work prepared by other members of staff
  • Ensuring that the firm’s quality control procedures are adhered to
  • Ensuring the firm’s professional standards are met
  • Ensuring that work is presented to the partner in a complete and finalised format
  • Ensuring that draft fees are prepared in a timeous manner
  • Providing an efficient and pro-active service to clients and ensure that the clients’ needs are fully met
  • Developing work from existing clients by working closely with Partners and staff of the firm
  • Participating in wider marketing and business development activities for the development of the Skill Group and the wider development of the firm
  • Attending networking events, etc. and developing professional relationships with clients, others within the firm, and with other local professional firms and potential clients.

The Person

  • CA/ACCA qualified
  • Experience at working at a high level to support the Partners
  • Management and supervisory experience
  • Experience of managing and developing a client portfolio
  • Good letter writing and report writing skills
  • Actively seek opportunities for selling new services to existing clients and identifying opportunities for non-clients
  • Experience in delivering training to staff and potential clients
  • Experience of presenting advice orally, in writing and over the telephone
  • Ability to think laterally and imaginatively to seek the range of options available to clients
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing deadlines and priorities
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring colleagues
  • Good experience of business development
