This well established modern and forward thinking mid-tier firm with an excellent reputation on the market for providing an excellent level of service to clients are looking for an experienced Payroll Senior/Manager to join their growing payroll team. The Practice has grown significantly in recent years and constantly on the lookout for ways to develop and enhance the business.

The Role

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing the payroll team and a varied portfolio of clients including charities, SMEs and large corporates.  You will responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of a high-class payroll service, providing expert technical advice to your clients. You will be tasked with  developing the wider team and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the wider payroll function through your proactive approach.

On Offer

The position will come with a competitive salary offering up to £35,000 P.A. (flexible) plus benefits and excellent growth potential. You will oversee individual within the team and will have potential to recruit either a trainee or experienced payroller too. You can work both at home and in the office throughout the working week and will not be required to work overtime. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the firm’s payroll clients and ensure that they are receiving high quality work from the payroll team.
  • Ensure that all deadlines are met whilst maintaining a high level of service
  • Ensure that all legislative requirements are met.
  • Meet with or make regular calls to clients to ensure that covering all of their requirements
  • Review fee levels.
  • Review service level agreements.
  • Prepare fees.
  • Partner/client liaison.
  • Provide advice to service groups.
  • Effectively manage the resourcing of clients to ensure the most appropriate team member is facilitating each payroll
  • Provide quotes for potential new clients.
  • Market the team internally as well as externally.
  • Meet with potential new clients.
  • Develop payroll strategy and contribute to service group plans.
  • Line management of payroll employees

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 year’s experience in a similar role
  • BrightPay Payroll experience 
  • Strong technical experience 
  • A proven track record of process improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A proactive approach and a possess good initiative
  • Strong people management experience with the willingness to develop the team
