£22,000 - £26,000 P.A. plus study support

 

A growing independent accountancy firm requires the service of an experienced (part-qualified) Accountant to join their team in Glasgow. The modern office is based in Glasgow just outside the city centre. The office has great transport links and has availability to park as well.

The Firm

This modern chartered accountancy firm is looking for an enthusiastic part qualified Accountant to join their dynamic team. This accountancy firm specialises in SME's, management accounting and strategic planning advice. This owner managed firm is completely paperless and provides smarter accounting by combining easy-to-use cloud based software with friendly face to face expert advice.

The Role

  • Preparation of management and annual accounts for a variety of clients including Limited Companies, Sole Traders, Partnerships, LLP, Trusts and Charities. The clients operate in a wide range of sectors including SME's, landed estates, professionals, service industries and high net worth individuals
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Liaison and communication with clients and colleagues
  • Completion of work to agreed timescales and budgets
  • Assisting with bookkeeping for clients including processing invoices and bank transactions on accounting software and reconciling bank accounts
  • Xero certified (preferred)
  • Experience of working in an accountancy practice (essential)
  • Experience of preparing statutory reports for HMRC and other external stakeholders e.g. VAT (MTD), Payroll, Self Assessment, Corporation Tax, FRS105, FRS 102, OSCR.

On Offer:

The full-time salary will be up to £26,000 P.A. depending on experience and if study support is required. You will have the flexibility to plan your workday and hours to suit you but standard working hours are 9:00am - 17:00pm Monday to Friday.

Requirements:

  • Have 2 years’ experience working in a similar Accounts Assistant role within a Public Practice firm (preferred)
  • Experience of preparing accounts to trial balance stage or review stage
  • Ideally, you will have experience of cloud accounting software such as Xero and Sage 
  • Excellent communication skills will be required, and you must be comfortable liaising with client personnel
