£45,000 - Industry & Commerce - Part Qualified Accountant

The Company

A very established UK business that has gone from strength to strength in recent years with continued growth expected. The company has several distribution sites facilitating customers across the UK and Europe. They are now looking to bring in additional resource to the finance team based in Livingston, creating a new position of Management Accountant

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, the role is commercially focussed but hands on and will require the successful candidate to develop good working relationships both on site with commercial managers and with key members of the senior leadership team.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic reforecasts, working closely with the finance team and department heads.
Collaborate with project managers to monitor project costs, providing regular updates and analysis on project profitability.
Support the financial planning and analysis process, providing accurate and reliable financial data for decision-making purposes.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports for senior management, shareholders, and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant financial regulations.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance function.
Stay updated with industry trends and changes in financial regulations to ensure best practices are followed.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

Part Qualified or Finalist level ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience working in a management accounting role, preferably within the construction or related industry.
Strong knowledge of management accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Proficiency in financial management software and advanced MS Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.

On Offer

The position of Management Accountant will offer a salary of £45,000 plus a strong benefits package. The offices are based close to West Lothian with parking available on site. The role will offer an element of flexibility dependent on circumstances but will require someone to understand the importance of being on-site for a role of this nature.
