iMultiply are working in partnership with a leading Scottish Law Firm to recruit a permanent Legal Cashier. The role is based in Edinburgh and is paying a competitive salary plus additional benefits.

The Role

The role of Legal Cashier will require the successful individual to have experience of working in the finance team of a legal business. The successful individual will be well versed in the functionality of a Cashroom, as well as a good understanding of Law Society and Anti-Money Laundering regulation. They will also be highly professional working manner and maintain exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of their work.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

Responsible for the accurate management and maintenance of client designated bank accounts
Responsible for ensuring client funds are lodged and uplifted from designated bank accounts
Ensuring internal cheque requests are reviewed, authorised and processed timeously and accurately
Bank reconciliations
Maintain exceptional knowledge and understanding of relevant rules and regulations, such as HMRC VAT, Law Society and Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
Running and producing various reports relating to both compliance and client accounts – analysing and rectifying any issues occurring from said reports
Liaising with various internal stakeholders of the business including fee earners, senior management and Directors
Other ad hoc duties relating to the daily running of a Cashroom

To be considered for the role you must:

Have a minimum of 1 years’ legal industry experience
Have a minimum of 1 years’ experience of working in a legal cashier/cashroom based role
Be well versed in Law Society of Scotland and Solicitors Regulation Authority Accounts rules
Be highly professional and have a strong attention to detail
Be highly proficient in the manipulation of IT software such as Microsoft Excel
