Accountancy Practice - Finance Specialist (Tax, VAT, Compliance)

iMultiply is working in partnership with a large, UK focused, private business that is looking to recruit a Tax Manager for its Finance Department based in central Edinburgh.

The Company

Our customer is a privately owned business, headquartered in central Edinburgh, with a multi-million pound turnover.

The Role

The role of Manager will include managing the UK Group's compliance process including Corporate Tax and VAT, assisting the wider Finance team with financial statements under both UK GAAP and IFRS, liaising with advisers around R&D claims, assisting with Corporate Development opportunities and supporting the Tax Director whilst managing and developing a Tax Associate.

Principle Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of high quality tax information to internal stakeholders
  • Maintenance of a strong control environment
  • Delivery of high quality tax information to External stakeholders
  • Resource management
  • Providing UK technical expertise
  • Providing Ad Hoc International expertise
  • Involvement in Ad hoc projects

The Person

  • Tax Qualification(CTA) /Professional Accountancy Qualification with a minimum of 5years PQE
  • Experience operating in a similar role, either in the profession or industry
  • Strong UK tax technical knowledge and motivation to keep up to date with changes in standards and regulation
  • Confident in tax accounting requirements under FRS 101 and IAS12, including DT calculations and DTA recognition
  • Experience of governance/SAO compliance best practice
  • Good working knowledge of Alphatax and Excel software
  • Desire to keep up to date with technical developments and proven track record of researching/interpreting complex tax issues
  • Desire to manage and develop Tax and wider Finance team members

The role will come with a hybrid working pattern and there will be a necessity for the job-holder to be in the office 2/3 days a week.
