The Company

A well-known, Top 25 leading Chartered Accountancy firm is looking to expand its Business Advisory team in Glasgow on a full-time or part-time basis. This is an exciting time to join this accountancy firm as they are in a great period of growth and are expanding all teams across their Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast and England offices.

The Role

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

Undertake the review of indirect tax compliance returns, identify and clear review points ready for final approval and issue to the client
Ongoing management of all aspects of a client portfolio, working alongside the client engagement team ensuring all client deadlines and demands are met
Deal with all indirect tax correspondence related to clients and ensure client queries are dealt with in a timely fashion, with guidance
Participate in the delivery of client work from start to finish, in relation to any indirect tax support required
Independently carry out technical research, including review of appropriate legislation to provide conclusions directly to clients, with minimal guidance
Undertake technical research to assist in providing solutions and opportunities for clients
Maintain and develop technical knowledge, keeping up to date with all relevant legislative changes and sharing relevant knowledge with the rest of the team
Be responsible for undertaking work in line with budget, managing fees and demonstrating commercial awareness on jobs, including setting expectations on deliverables with junior members of the team
Provide support and guidance to the team to assist with the development of more junior levels, sharing knowledge and experience

The Person

A qualified accountant or chartered tax advisor
Experience working in a similar indirect tax/ VAT role
Experience in technical compliance and advisory work
Strong technical skills and keen to develop further
Ability to build strong client relationships
