The Role

This is not just an ideal first move into industry but also a uniquely varied and interesting Group Reporting Accountant role in the Reporting Team.  This team is the last line of defence before any information is sent to group.  As well as monthly and annual financial reporting, you will be involved in monthly, bi-annual and year end management and financial reporting across all the different entities and business streams in the group.  You will also be involved in supporting a wide variety of new and existing projects as well as supporting the Budgeting and Forecasting Team.

This role will also have a high degree of exposure to the senior finance leadership team, naturally facilitating internal networking and progression opportunities.

 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a recently qualified accountant.  With a high degree of technical proficiency, you will be ambitious and driven to develop as a professional accountant with an inquisitive, problem solving mind-set.  This drive will allow you to take advantage of the many and varied internal opportunities to gain exposure across the business and progress your career.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Qualified with PQE of at least one year and a strong current technical and business knowledge,
  • Experienced at preparing statutory accounts under IFRS and UK GAAP,
  • A pro-active person who anticipates issues and problems and puts in place effective strategies to manage these,
  • Comfortable applying relevant accounting standards and legislation as appropriate,
  • Able to identify and assess the impact of developments in IFRS on financial reporting,
  • Have the confidence, ability and presence to constructively challenge at all levels,
  • Strong at self-performance management and delivery focused with the ability to balance conflicting requirements,
  • Understanding of the impact of complex accounting issues and able to communicate the results clearly and concisely.
