Global Commercial Finance Director -- £six figures, 20% bonus & pension, West Central Scotland - Industry & Commerce - Finance Executive/Management

World-class CFO is strengthening his team by appointing a Global Commercial Finance Director to transform and grow one of Scotland's fastest growing businesses.
 
With a reputation for driving innovation, this company now owns cutting-edge technology coupled with an established global manufacturing footprint, giving them considerable competitive advantage and creating a platform for monumental growth.  
 
The company has a turnover of c£200 million with plans to grow by 150% in the next 5 years. By 2030 the turnover is envisaged to be around £1 billion, creating Scotland’s next big success story. 
 
You will play a key part in the transformation of the business as they look to scale up, effectively commercialising the organisation by designing and implementing global integrated business planning and driving performance in various business units including sales, marketing and operations. This includes:
 

Key Objectives:

  • To provide leadership on business partnering across the business units
  • Finance lead for IBP/S&OP process development and ongoing management
  • Standard costing and manufacturing performance management
  • Finance lead responsible for partnering with Sales and Marketing and Operations to develop longer term strategic plans and investment requirements to support BU growth ambitions
  • Support Exec team members to deliver the budget targets including decision support on risk and opportunity management
  • Define and develop business wide performance metrics to drive growth and embed accountability and performance management across the business
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Planning and Business Development Manager to create robust budgets and long term financial plans for the BU. This will include input to potential external partnerships and potential acquisitions
  • Build and develop business partnering team to step change the finance business partnering capabilities in the BU

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner Sales and Marketing and Operational teams on day to day decision making
  • Perform monthly and ad hoc financial analysis as required by Exec committee
  • Support IBP/S&OP inputs and outputs by function. Collate and manage risks and opportunities with Exec committee and create scenario plans to support decision making around operational planning.
  • Lead development of IBR/S&OP process in partnership with the COO and operations team
  • Support development of KPI dashboards to create culture of performance management and accountability across the business
  • Partner the Exec team on monthly review and drive actions/decisions based on KPI performance.
  • Carry out monthly project budget/SG&A review, commentary, risk and opportunities management and suggest course corrections
  • Partner business on long term strategy formulation and financial implications for each function. This will predominantly cover Sales and Marketing, Operations, Product Development
  • Develop Gross Margin mix analysis and insights to steer product portfolio management decisions
  • Provide analysis, support and governance around sales incentive schemes
  • Provide analysis and support capital investment decisions
  • Motivate and engage commercial finance team. Ensure the teams deliver the highest standard of departmental and cross departmental teamwork and customer service. Provide coaching, guidance and support and set development plans to assist employees within the respective teams to reach their full potential

The successful candidate will come from a global world-class manufacturing organisation and will be a driven strategic leader who demonstrates impressive agility. You will have been influential in designing and driving business planning & performance; and implementing a ‘fit-for-purpose’ business partnering model between Manufacturing and Sales & Marketing functions.

You will have taken the lead on impactful Strategic Projects, effectively implementing and managing the roll-out of financial strategies, making objective decisions utilising key data.

The ability to perform in an environment of constant fast change is essential to deliver in this role.
