£35,000 - £40,000 - Non-for-Profit Sector - Part Qualified Accountant

iMultiply are working in partnership with a well-established non-for-profit organisation, based in Edinburgh on the role of Financial Accountant. The role is paying a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 in addition to an excellent benefits package

The Company 

The organisation operates in the non-for-profit sector. They pride themselves on having a friendly working environment - encouraging employees to have a process improvement mindset and not be scare to bring any ideas they have to the floor. They are now going through an interesting period of change within the finance team and are looking for a Financial Accountant.

The Role

The role of Financial Accountant will report into the Head of Finance, The role will require the successful candidate to be responsible for all aspects of Financial Control as well as being heavily involved in year-end statutory accounts. The successful candidate will have a process improvement mindset and will ideally have experience of working in the non-for-profit sector. 

You will be involved in but not limited to the following duties: 

  • Ensuring there is an effective system of financial control that is robust and effective.  Ensure financial policies and procedures are adhered to across the organisation.
  • Accountable for the seamless running of the transactional finance team including sales ledger credit control, purchase ledger, bank, cash and expenses and associated reconciliations and payroll data/queries.
  • Responsible for cashflow management and review of payment runs. 
  • Responsible for review of the monthly payroll and annual year end process (including P11D’s). Management of the relationship and data provision of out-sourced payroll bureau.  Oversight of payroll related queries from employees and HRMC.
  • Responsible for external financial reporting including regulatory returns, National Statistic submissions and bank covenants.
  • Production of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Contribute towards the preparation of annual statutory accounts and annual audit
  • Act as main point of contact to the outsourced audit coordinating the internal audits and tracking completion of audit recommendations.
  • Support on development of fit for purpose finance systems and system generated reporting which are continually reviewed and improved in line with business needs.
  • Developing and maintaining an effective process and procedures to ensure departmental procedures are up to date and reflect current processes.
  • Own key KPI’s and performance improvement within own area of responsibility. 
  • Be an active and effective member of Finance Team and wider organisation, working cross-functionally in a collaborative manner to deliver business goals, projects, and priorities.

 

To be considered for the role you must be: 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with recognised professional accountancy qualification, or working towards qualification ACCA/CIMA/ICAS
  • Able to work with autonomy to deliver business priorities and manage workload within a dynamic operating environment.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and influencing skills required together with an eye for detail and can-do attitude.

The role of Financial Accountant will offer a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum along with an excellent benefits package including agile and flexible working conditions. The office is based in Edinburgh with parking onsite and is also easily accessible via public transport.
