iMultiply are working in partnership with an online brand protection business to recruit a Finance Manager on a part-time (3-4 day per week) basis, with flexible hybrid working available for their Edinburgh office.

Rachel experienced, first-hand, the devastating impact that counterfeits can have, which fuelled her love for intellectual property (particularly trademarks) and to truly value their crucial importance.

Our team of expert brand protection specialists monitor the web to detect harmful fakes and infringements and work closely with the relevant platforms to ensure offending links are removed.

The role

SnapDragon has experienced continued annual growth since inception. The business is well placed for planned ambitious growth, and recently completed a late seed funding round with support from Mercia Scottish Enterprise and the Angel CoFund.

The current Finance Manager works 2.5 days per week and is very experienced with fast-growing start-ups to fully understand the business. With management of the part-time Finance Assistant and other outsourced services, the finance function has provided the stability and information required for the Senior Leadership Team.

The business recently appointed a Finance Director on a part-time basis [2 days/month].

The Finance Manager retires Q1 2022, with the replacement due to start no later than February 2022. They will work closely with the Head Dragon and alongside Head of Sales and the Finance Director. The Finance Manager role can be expanded to 4 days per week to incorporate some operational elements (eg HR, Operations or Sales) for the right candidate. The role will focus 2 to 3 days per week on Finance - with the balance on operational matters.

The right person

The Finance Manager is a key position and integral to future success. The preferred candidate will be a qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA) with minimum 3-5years PQE. They will have a proven track record in management accounting and will be highly visible in a hands-on role covering a wide range of tasks.

With experience in high growth / startup environments, they will be self-motivated to deliver under pressure to specific deadlines, with excellent communication, organisational and IT skills. The Finance Manager must thrive on challenges working in a growing, dynamic environment demonstrating initiative and a can-do approach with a strong technical background and attention to detail.

Whilst developing the monthly management accounts packs and providing budgeting and forecasting support, the Finance Manager will support the business in making the best decisions, achieving best value, and providing an added value service to all stakeholders both internally and externally.

Job Description

This is a part-time role for 3-4 days per week. Working closely with the Head Dragon, the Finance Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of a wide variety of Finance activities. They will assist the Finance Director to support internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, senior leadership and the board.

Primary responsibilities for the Finance Manager will include, but is not limited to:

  • Producing monthly management accounts
  • Producing annual budget
  • Overseeing preparation and submission of statutory accounts
  • Ensuring highest standard of internal financial control and risk management.
  • Working alongside CEO, Head of Sales and non-executive Chair to develop robust financial investment model

Salary:                         Competitive depending on experience (pro-rata to 3-4 days)

Annual Leave:             24 days holidays plus 8 public holidays (pro-rata to 3-4 days)

Hybrid working so long as willing to travel to the office for induction for a few days and attend the office occasionally.
