iMultiply is supporting this manufacturing business, part of a global group, in their search for a Finance Manager to take responsibility of the finance team at their Glasgow base of operations.

This role will be based in the West Glasgow office on a full time permanent basis, and offers a basic salary up to £55,000 DoE.

The Role

The Finance Manager heads up the finance team in Glasgow and is part of the site senior management team.

This role will:

  • Supervise a small finance team, ensuring tasks are performed correctly and timeously,
  • Produce month end local management report (in Sterling and USD) and monthly financial forecasts, and submit to the parent group,
  • Produce annual 5 year plan,
  • Prepare the daily cash report to the parent group, monitor the cashflows of the company and maintain a healthy cash situation,
  • Approve the weekly payment internally and act as a first approver of all payments/approver on PTX,
  • Key person to be responsible for annual audit,
  • Primary contact of external parties (includes auditor, bank relationship manager, lawyer, HMRC, utilities, office of national statistics, pension advisor etc),
  • Maintain financial procedures, input into operational issues to inject a finance standpoint if necessary,
  • Perform the HR functions (includes processing monthly payroll, acting as a Pensions Administrator, responsible for annual pension return and pension re-enrolment, maintain all HR procedures in line with legislation, issue contracts to new starts, update employee record in company internal system etc),
  • Complete the company annual return on Companies House portal,
  • Chair the monthly management meeting with Sales/Operations and generate meeting notes,
  • Assist other departments with compliance to company rules and procedures,
  • Handle some administration matters (e.g. utility contract renewal, annual insurance renewal etc),
  • Answer queries/requests from corporate office in the parent group.

The ideal candidate

The preferred candidate will be:

  • a commercially astute accountant with significant management accounting and team management experience, preferably from the manufacturing sector,
  • familiar with IFRS as well as FRS102,
  • experienced in managing a small accounting team,
  • experienced at dealing with an overseas corporate office,
  • an excellent problem-solver,
  • an excellent communicator, adept at managing internal and external professional relationships,
  • able to work independently and under pressure to tight deadlines.

Furthermore, though not mandatory, experience in using Pegasus Opera and Operations would be beneficial.

On Offer
This role is offered on a full time permanent basis, 5 days a week in the office and offers a salary up to £55,000 with a competitive package.

After a successful 6 month probationary period, alternative working arrangements such as a compressed working week or a day a week working from home will be available for consideration.
