The Role

We are looking for a talented Finance Manager to take full responsibility of the day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks within the Group Finance Department. Reporting to the Managing Director you will guide a small team and help prepare management and statutory accounting information to strict bank and investor deadlines. 

You should have or be working towards a recognised accountancy qualification. This is a diverse role with reporting requirements for several business units within the group. As a senior member of the team, the Finance manager will support the achievement of key business objectives by ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of all financial reporting as well and maintaining and improving all key financial processes. 

Key objectives

This will be a hands-on role, providing assistance is required in a variety of areas within the Finance Department. Your responsibilities will include:

  • You will be accountable for managing the finance team and ensuring they have the skills required to deliver our financial reporting objectives
  • To deliver complete set of management accounts within 10 days of period end for all business units
  • To deliver a weekly draft profit forecast to ensure remedial action required is flagged to the operational team
  • To support the operational teams with monthly forecasting templates and reporting
  • Support the operations manager in monthly forecasting by providing accurate templates and sales trackers with the support of the team
  • To process the company payroll using Fourth Hospitality in line with company payroll policies
  • To manage the accounts team workload and provide direct support to them
  • To ensure good management of the purchase and sales ledgers
  • To ensure accounts receivable ledgers are well controlled
  • To ensure the weekly reconciliation of all company bank accounts by the finance team
  • To deliver quarterly VAT returns for all companies in line with MTD requirements and ensure timely payment of al VAT liabilities
  • To ensure the timely payment of monthly PAYE liabilities
  • To ensure the timely payment of all pension arrangements both NEST and any others required
  • To manage supplier payments weekly and monthly
  • To produce a weekly cash flow report for the senior team
  • To manage the balance sheets for each business unit
  • To manage the manual journals posted by the accounts team to ensure accuracy and reconcile quarterly
  • to ensure the Fixed Asset Registers are up to date and manage the depreciations schedules
  • to work with the data and systems manager to ensure Procurewizard delivers the projected ROI
  • To manage intercompany payroll recharges for month end close and support the accounts team in all other recharging requirements
  • Review the requirements for the next stage of MTD and work with the senior team to ensure delivery
  • Manage the year end process to support the delivery of statutory accounts and work with the CSG Finance team to support the audit process

Skills required

  • Qualified/Part Qualified Accountancy professional level or equivalent experience
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to adapt to internal systems quickly, experience using XERO is preferable
  • Strong leadership capabilities and understanding of working with as a team
  • Well organised, and can plan and manage time effectively to meet the key deadline dates and tasks of the role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with all core Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Good understanding of the hospitality industry and commercial awareness
