iMultiply are retained in partnership with a unique and growing professional services business based in Edinburgh City Centre. To support with the next phase of growth the business is now looking for a Finance Manager to join their dynamic and forward-thinking team.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

The Company 

The business is a specialist boutique legal business that works with a unique range of clients such as high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts and charities domiciled in Scotland. The company is now about to enter an important part of their growth journey with ambitious plans for considerable growth in the next 3 years. They are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join them on the exciting journey.

The Role 

This newly created role will play a key role in efficiently and effectively supporting two trading companies in their financial operations. The position of Finance Manager will be required to maintain internal finances, ranging from transactional duties, up to the production management accounts.  You will also work closely with the Finance Director to provide real-time information to support commercial decisions and strategy. To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a proven track record as an all-round company accountant, preferably within an SME.

You will be involved in but not limited to the following:

  • Responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts and commentary to reflect business performance, working to the required deadlines.
  • Responsibility for preparation of year end accounts including liaison with the auditors.
  • Preparation of detailed financial analysis for senior management
  • Preparation of net profitability reporting for senior management
  • Preparation of regular cashflow and profit and loss forecasting.
  • Preparation of annual budgets and cashflows
  • Responsibility for the preparation and submission of business statutory and regulatory requirements including quarterly VAT returns 
  • Line Manager of the Cashroom Supervisor and Billing Manager. Responsibility for the smooth, efficient operations of the firm’s transactional Cashroom and Billing teams
  • Management of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Team and all its operations.

 To be considered for this exciting opportunity you must have the following: 

  • Qualified Accountant ICAS/ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA
  • Proven track record of operating as an all-round Accountant preferably in an SME environment
  • Highly organised, able to work autonomously, managing own and team’s workload and prioritising tasks to tight deadlines.
  • Strong team/people management skills essential.
  • Proven skills in managing a transactional team is essential.
  • Comfortable learning new systems, developing and implementing new procedures and proposing solutions for problems.
  • A proven track record of being hands on within a small finance function including liaising and influencing senior internal & external stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of financial systems such as Sage, Quickbooks, Xero etc.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

On Offer

The role will offer a competitive full time equivalent salary of between £45,000 - £55,000.

The position of Finance Manager is full-time position (with flexibility) and will be based in their Edinburgh City Centre office. There is also:
