iMultiply are delighted to be working with a well known national governing body looking for a Finance Assistant at their office based in the East End of Glasgow. 

The Company 

This organisation is a well established sports governing body with the aim of delivering international sporting success, growing and effectively governing the sport whilst encouraging mass participation. 

The Role

You will act as first point of contact for finance within the Business Operations team, and provide support to the Finance and Business Operations Manager and Head of Business Operations in relation to all financial matters.

As Finance Assistant you will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

 

  • Process purchase orders, invoices, and expense claims.
  • Ensure that all invoices or expenses claims are approved, coded accurately and entered onto XERO.
  • Ensure that purchase invoices are correctly VAT coded.
  • Investigate and resolve purchase ledger queries as required.
  • Reconcile supplier statements to supplier purchase ledger accounts.
  • Monthly assessment of the Purchase Ledger including payment control.
  • Reconcile monthly statements and receipts with card holders for the relevant period.
  • Ensure all transactions are approved and coded accurately.
  • Ensure that purchases are correctly VAT coded.
  • Ensure accurate transfer of card information onto XERO software and reconcile the card nominal account monthly.
  • Produce Suggested Payment Report for the Finance and Business Operations Manager before processing payments.
  • Process all payments due to creditors on a weekly basis.
  • Issue remittance advice to suppliers.
  • Prepare all direct debit payments ready for reconciliation by the Finance and Business Operations Manager.
  • Creation of sales invoices as requested and issue to customers.
  • Ensure that sales invoices are correctly VAT coded.
  • Investigate and resolve sales ledger queries as required.
  • Reconcile customer statements to customer sales ledger accounts. o Monthly assessment of the Sales Ledger including credit control.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports for bank and cash accounts monthly for review by the Finance and Business Operations Manager
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the annual budgets.
  • Attend quarterly budget meetings and provide support to the Finance & Business Operations Manager.
  • Assist with the sportscotland audit preparation.
  • Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following:

  • Gained experience in a similar role
  • Strong excel and numeracy skills
  • Problem solving – and a proven ability to use your own initiative
  • Great organisational skills – prioritising your workload and working independently, whilst also being a strong team player
  • Brilliant communication skills, written and verbal

On Offer

This is a Permanent Full-Time role based in the East End of Glasgow, an easily accessible location with multiple transportation routes. The role offers a salary of £23-25,000, hybrid working, pension and generous holiday allowance.
