iMultiply are delighted to be working with an independent television producer in their search for a Finance Assistant for their small and friendly team based in Govan.  

The Company 

This company is an independent television producer with an outstanding reputation for award-winning factual programmes, with their speciality being the production ambitious premium documentaries for major UK broadcasters and streaming services.

The Role

The appointment of Finance Assistant is a critical role to help strengthen the current team. You will be providing financial support to the production accountant and production management teams, responsible for the efficient running of the finance function on a day-to-day basis.

As Finance Assistant you will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Management of accounts payable mailbox
  • Management of online Purchase Order platform - DPO
  • Review invoices received to ensure compliance with P/L guidelines and processing to Sage, ensuring an electronic copy of the invoice & backup attached to the posting
  • Vendor account management - including bank details, and email addresses
  • Creditor statement reconciliations and timely follow-up of any discrepancies identified
  • Accurate & timely filing of all paperwork
  • Preparation of weekly/monthly payment runs for review and approval, export file, and upload to online banking portal
  • Obtain appropriate authorisations
  • Distribution of remittance advice
  • Accurate & timely filing of all paperwork
  • Update cashflow actuals.
  • Credit cards/prepaid cards
  • Manage timely return of credit/Equals card information from cardholders
  • Collate backup in line with internal procedures
  • Review all credit card transaction coding, review for VAT, prepare journals, obtain appropriate manager authorisation, and journal posting to Sage
  • Monthly reconciliation of card balances
  • See outstanding queries through to completion
  • Review, reconcile and process employee expenses according to internal processing policy and HMRC guidelines
  • Daily management of online banking, including posting transactions to Sage and reconciliation of all accounts
  • Cashflow reporting
  • Management & maintenance of all credit card and prepaid card functions, providing assistance to cardholders when necessary
  • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Management of Fixed Asset register and monthly depreciation posting
  • Ongoing analysis of costs

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following:

  • Previous experience working within a busy finance office is essential
  • Minimum AAT qualification and proven double-entry accounting experience
  • Previous experience with Sage Cloud50 professional
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills
  • Knowledge of HMRC VAT guidelines and processes
  • Knowledge of TV & Film Industry Guidelines
  • A drive to learn and develop
  • Excellent communication & organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations, work to tight deadlines and take ownership of tasks through to completion.
