Industry & Commerce - Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper

iMultiply are working in partnership with an exciting and creative organisation looking for a 6-month Full-Time Finance Assistant. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious team player keen to join a fast-paced environment.

The Role

To support the Finance Manager as they manage the significant growth in the busines over the recent years. This role is an integral part of the finance team as well as a providing assistance across all departments.

As the Finance Assistant, you will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties: 

Sales Ledger

  • Cashing up tills
  • Reconciliation of sales system transactions to bank statements to ensure all receipts are posted and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Transfer output files to a journal to post sales transactions to accounting system
  • Monitor daily bank transactions and confirm receipt of payments to sales and corporate team as required.
  • Monitor cash takings and bank any cash received daily.
  • Create invoices

 Purchase Ledger

  • Process all invoices, passing onto relevant members of the team for authorisation before posting onto the system once appropriately authorised.
  • Ensure the discount receivable on invoices are processed and paid in a timely manner.
  • Check all supplier statements monthly and follow up on any queried or missing invoices with suppliers or relevant members of the team.
  • Prepare mid-month and month-end payment runs for supplier and any other sundry payments as required.
  • Prepare any foreign currency payments  
  • Post all monthly staff and credit card expenses onto the system

  • High attention to detail with the ability to be self-motivated and disciplined.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
  • Organised, work to tight deadlines and able to prioritise multiple simultaneous workloads.
  • Strong computer skills and good working knowledge of MS Excel

On Offer

This is a Full-Time role offering a competitive salary of up to £29,000, a pension scheme amongst other benefits. This position will be based in a wonderful Edinburgh office based in the city centre, in a very accessible area.
