The Role

The position of Experienced Accounts Assistant will suit a Part Qualified/Qualified Accountant however those looking to start their studies will be considered with ample practical experience. You must have experience of working within an Accountancy Practice/Firm and have exposure to accounts, exposure to audit is advantageous however, not essential as training will be provided. Those looking to study will be fully supported towards ACCA/ICAS and you will be given the opportunity to work on a range of clients offering you exposure to a range of different businesses and technicalities

The role Experienced Accounts Assistant will offer a competitive salary of £DOE plus study support and a strong benefits package. 

The role will include the following duties:

  • Advising and consulting with clients face to face and by telephone or email
  • Preparing management accounts
  • Preparing annual statutory accounts for a wide variety of SMEs
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Communicating findings to senior management in a clear and concise manner
  • Managing workload to ensure deadlines are met whilst always maintaining a high level of service
  • On job support and training to junior staff
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this role you have the following skills/experience:

  • Worked in an accountancy firm/practice environment for ideally 2 years minimum
  • Be personable and competent in building trust and rapport
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and develop existing client relationships
  • Be confident in working to tight deadlines effectively
