The Role
The Director of Finance and Corporate Services plays a critical strategic role in the Leadership Team. Reporting to the Chief Executive, they will also work in close collaboration with other members of the Leadership Team, Senior and Service Managers as well as with all staff within their team.
The successful candidate is expected to be seen to live the charity’s core values in all aspects of carrying out the role. They will support the charity’s work delivering on the strategic plan, managing strategic risk, developing financial strategy and plans, and seeking new opportunities and innovations.
The Right Person
The Director of Finance and Corporate Services role is best suited to an individual who is innovative, forward thinking and commercially minded with a strategic mindset to address opportunities.
A commercial background may be beneficial, however the successful candidate must understand the Third sector and therefore ideally have relevant experience.
Possessing a professional accountancy qualification, the successful candidate must have experience of Strategic Leadership across a combination of the following areas:
- Strategic risk management
- Strategic financial management
- Human resource management
- Governance
- Digital Strategy and IT
- Compliance: legal, statutory, regulatory
- Facilities management
Job Description
Acting on their own authority, or as delegated from the Board and/or Chief Executive, the successful candidate will be responsible for all major decisions affecting the work of the Finance and Corporate Services Department and must be able to justify decisions made.
Key objectives for the Director of Finance & Corporate Services are enabling effective strategic risk management as follows:
- Direct strategic risk management for the charity
- Provide Strategic Financial Management and resilience for the whole organisation
- Ensure best quality provision of, and legal compliance for, corporate services
- Lead Cyrenians in becoming a Learning Organisation
- Lead the gathering, continuous review and assessment, management and analysis of monitoring and evaluation data
- Lead, manage and develop staff across the Enabling Function within their remit to achieve excellence in all areas of performance
- Provide dynamic values-based leadership
There is scope for the post-holder to contribute over and above these tasks based on the knowledge, skills and experience they bring with them.
On Offer
Salary: £52,961 - £59,415 dependent on experience
Hours: 37 hours per week
Annual Leave: A total of 35 days including public holidays
