One of the UK's Top 10 most well-known accountancy practices currently requires a Business Advisory Assistant Manager to join their Business Services team in Glasgow. The ideal candidate for this role will be a qualified accountant who will be joining an award-winning leading practice across the UK. In this position, will be working with a successful team and managing a varied client portfolio ranging from different sectors and lead on day to day client contact.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and line managing a number of seniors and assistants.  Your work will include liaising with clients, proactively managing deadlines, reviewing Assistants and Seniors drafting of accounts and other general practice related work, ensuring budgets are met and developing both your knowledge and skills and that of your team.  

You will be working alongside two other Managers, Directors and Partners ensuring the team is running as efficiently as possible.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and supervision of clients’ accounts and other related work
  • Managing and training team members, giving regular constructive feedback
  • Delegating work to team members  
  • Liaising with Tax Specialists   
  • Dealing with Ad Hoc client issues as they arise
  • Drafting fees for senior management team  

To be considered for the role you must have:

  • A professional Accountancy qualification - ACCA/ICAS or similar
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport and credibility
  • A proactive and forward-thinking approach
  • Good time management skills
