This award-winning, global accountancy practice currently requires an Audit Trainee to join their External Audit team in Glasgow.

A leading Accountancy Firm based in the heart of Edinburgh that offers Audit, Tax and Advisory services to a wide-ranging client base across Scotland and beyond. The Firm has experienced considerable growth in recent times. They are ideally placed as one of the main players out with the Big 4 and are known for the exceptionally high quality service to clients.

The role

The Audit Trainee position is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is coming from an accountancy firm looking to continue with their audit career.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare analysis of accounting data from clients' books and records.
  • Active engagement with client staff in the gathering of appropriate audit evidence.
  • Build strong relationships with new and established clients.
  • Adherence to budget and timetable, bringing matters to the attention of the senior or manager, particularly when actual time is in excess of budget.
  • Involvement in the planning, execution and finalisation of the audit assignment supporting the Senior or Manager
  • Assist within the wider team by obtaining audit evidence necessary to support the opinions given.

The person

  • Studying towards ACCA/ACA or equivalent
  • Experience in IFRS/UK GAAP
  • Minimum of one year’s audit experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good time management, organisation skills and the ability to prioritise.
