Accountancy Practice - Accountant (Qualified by Experience)

A mid-tier accountancy firm require the services of an experienced/part qualified Audit Associate to join their growing audit team in Edinburgh (remotely due to COVID). 

The Firm

This well-known modern chartered accountancy firm is looking for an enthusiastic Audit Associate to join their Edinburgh office. The firm has been established for over 100 years and has a varied portfolio of SME's and individuals in the Highlands. Similar to many organisations, the firm has adapted their working practices to ensure the safety of their clients and colleagues. All teams are currently working from home and is likely to be for the foreseeable. 

The Role

  • Assisting with the audit process from planning and completing fieldwork through to completion and sign-off
  • Acting as Audit Senior on smaller audits - taking responsibility for the full audit process
  • Preparation of financial accounts 
  • Point of contact for the day-to-day communication with clients
  • Completing audit and accountancy assignments for a diverse client base including commercial organisations, charities, housing associations and pension schemes
  • Liaising with Managers, Directors and Partners as well as other departments

On Offer:

The full-time salary will be up to £26k depending on experience of the candidate. The firm is willing to provide full study support and offers flexible working hours working remotely. 

Requirements:

  • At least 1 years’ experience of working in an accounting firm - essential
  • Be Part-Qualified with ICAS or ACCA - preferred 
  • Have a strong interest/desire for working in Audit
  • Be highly ambitious, organised and professional 
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills required
  • IT literate - Microsoft Office, CCH, Sage, Xero, CaseWare
