iMultiply are partnering with a well-established and friendly independent retail business requiring an Accounts Assistant for their office based in Royston. 

The Company

The Role

Due to continual growth of the business, this company is looking to hire an Accounts Assistant to add value to the finance team whilst also developing and progressing their own accounting skillset with room for growth.

The Accounts Assistant’s role includes the creation, maintenance, control and analysis of all accounting records for the company, from transactional processing through to draft management accounts.


  • Processing purchase invoices
  • Processing staff expenses 
  • Managing petty cash 
  • Reconciling all bank transactions
  • Preparing weekly payment reports for management
  • Ad hoc support with purchase ledger and sales ledger, including credit control
  • Support with ad hoc data and reporting/analysis requests
  • Support month-end and year-end processes
  • Support annual audit processes

To be considered for this opportunity, you must display the following attributes:

  • A leader of your work and your professional learning
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively impact and influence others
  • Relevant experience in this or a similar role is preferred
  • Experience with purchase ledger and sales ledger management 
  • Ability to understand, question, organise and challenge a range of financial data
  • Ability to present ideas and information, tailored for each audience
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel. Xero experience is desirable but not essential
  • Highly organised with diligent and acute attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a small, successful team.

On Offer

This role offers a starting salary between £26,000 - £33,000 as well as offering plenty of holidays, pension, and healthcare. The company is happy to negotiate regarding flexible working and study support for the right candidate.
