Accountancy Practice - Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper

A mid-tier accountancy firm require the services of an experienced (part-qualified) Accounts Assistant to join their growing Business Services team in Inverness.

The Firm

This well-known modern chartered accountancy firm is looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join their Business Services team. The firm has been established for over 100 years and has a varied portfolio of SME's and individuals in the Highlands. 

The Role

  • Preparation of management and annual accounts for a variety of clients including Limited Companies, Sole Traders, Partnerships, LLP, Trusts and Charities. The clients operate in a wide range of sectors including farming, landed estates, professionals, service industries, SMEs and high net worth individuals
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Liaison and communication with Managers and Partners
  • Completion of work to agreed timescales and budgets
  • Assisting with bookkeeping for clients including processing invoices and bank transactions on accounting software and reconciling bank accounts
  • Assisting on audits (when required to do so)

On Offer:

The full-time salary will be up to £28,000 P.A. depending on experience and if study support is required. The firm is willing to provide full study support and offers flexible working hours at 35 hours per week with work from home opportunities as well.

Requirements:

  • Have 2 years’ experience working in a similar Accounts Assistant role within a Public Practice firm (preferred)
  • Experience of audits (preferred)
  • Experience of preparing accounts to trial balance stage or review stage
  • Ideally, you will have experience of cloud accounting software such as Xero and Sage 
  • Excellent communication skills will be required, and you must be comfortable liaising with client personnel
